Solsberg-Festival

The music festival with Sol Gabetta

Sol Gabetta, young Argentinean Cellist, who settled down in the Basel region a few years ago, made one of her dreams come true with her first Solsberg Festival in June 2006: to play music with like-minded people in a historically significant sorrounding, and to arrange and play fascinating concerts together with extraordinary musicians.

The musicians involved in the festival have all won important international awards. They are at the height of their artistic careers and can definitely be considered to belong to the new generation of internationally top soloists.

With this small but nice festival the Basel region has received a precious tribute to the musical landscape of northwest Switzerland. The baroque sanctuary Olsberg gives the festival a unique and solemn framework. In 2009 also the bigger town church St. Martin in Rheinfelden was booked and sold out.

Since 2008 itag has been part as partner and main sponsor of the Solsberg Festival and is looking forward to the next years of a fruitful and brilliant partnership.
